Genesis 37:3
Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his other sons, because he had been born to him in his old age; and he made an ornate robe for him.
This passage has been sitting with me for a while. It’s the phrase, ‘he made an ornate robe for him.’
What would you do for love?
I can understand Israel wanting to make; to create something beautiful for his son. It resonates with me. Although, I personally think picking out your favourite child is maybe not the best way to encourage sibling love!
Creativity takes time and thought. With each piece of fabric that was sewn together, I can imagine Israel’s building excitement at presenting his beloved son with the garment.
And Joseph, I wonder if he gave a little twirl when he put it on? Was he in awe at what his father had made for him? He must have felt so blessed!

I created this robe with washi tape and watercolour pencil.
Washi Tape – i’m addicted to washi tape. I’ve bought from all sorts of places (Wish.com seems suddenly more expensive now!)
